/}u^ Shis offioe is in receipt c£ your letter of the 15th
iaole&ft in tfoich you state that in the extreae western end of
your reservation, coirenonly known as 0Strattberry Valley*, and
comprising nearly one-fifth.of the reservation, or about
40,000 acres and for many yeai<3 practically monopolized by
cattle men and upon irhich grazing fees have been paid annually,
amounting to from $4,000 to S3,000 per annum, will, under
the late orders, excluding all stockmen, become practically
worthless to the Indiana, as they have not acquired or are
they likely to have for years, ctook eoou^h to oonatsae the
pasture; that the lands are not only \yorthless but will be a
souroe of endless trouble, expense and annoyance to keep
trespassers off; that it is remote from the agenoy, from
