The Office is in receipt of a letter from Thomas Dc:r:.o,
Special Agent in charge of the Cheyenne River Agency, S. D.t
dated August 19, paying that he understands that Tim Johns m ,
an Indian now on the Uintah Reservation, has written to the
Ute Indians at Cheyenne River that he contemplates bringing
a band of 163 Ute Indians to the Cheyenne River Reservation
in the spring.
You are direoted to inform the Indians of your Agency
that no more Indians can be received at the Cheyenne River
Agency, as the rations allowed will not be sufficient to .subsist
a greater number of Ute Indians than are already there.
Please acknowledge receipt.
