I have the honor.to;transmit herewith a request of a portion
/of the Ute Indians of this reservation for permission to go to
Washington for a conference.. This request is in the form of a
stenographic report of a council held by me to hear this request,
and it is very largely self-explanatory.

and the other portion of the Uncompahgres declined to .loin, in the
