Abstract In this interview, Freed (b. 1909) recalls his childhood in Salt Lake City, attending the University of Utah and his long association as an alumni; friendship with Wallace Stegner; business interests in Utah--Lagoon, ranching, Deseret Livestock Company, finance company; the terms as Captain of the Davis Cup Team for the United States; and his great pride in his wife, children, and grandchildren; and his interest in collecting Mormon material, especially coins.
