Shelton at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, regarding Dr. Atiya's upcoming visit to the campus during May 1956. Accommodations for the visit and the topic for a "whole course of lectures" are mentioned.
Page 2) A brief one-page typewritten letter from Dr. Aziz Atiya to O. L. Shelton, Dean of the School of Religion, Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana, dated February 3, 1956. In the letter, Dr. Atiya thanks Mr. Shelton for his letter of January 30, 1956, and also affirms the May 9th and 10th for his visit to Butler University. Dr. Atiya plans to speak there on the topic of the Coptic Church, and will also bring Liturgy tapes to provide a demonstration of Coptic music.
Page 3) A brief one-page typewritten letter from O. L. Shelton, Dean, School of Religion, Butler University, on School of Religion letterhead to Dr. Aziz Atiya dated April 14, 1956. The letter contains details for the May 9 and 10 visit to Butler University by Dr. Atiya, and mentions his accommodations (2 rooms at the Marott Hotel in downtown Indianapolis) and plans for Dr. Atiya's "messages" or speaking events. The Marott Hotel (not to be confused with Marriott) was built in 1926. Members of the School of Religion Faculty are listed along the left-hand margin of the stationery.

Shelton (Dean, School of Religion, Butler University, Indianpolis, Indiana) to Dr. Aziz Atiya at the University of Michigan -- Ann Abor, Department of Near Eastern Studies, dated January 30, 1956. The letter is regarding the dates in May 1956 that Dr. Atiya will be at Butler University, and Mr. Shelton informs that May 9 and 10 would enable more students to attend, rather than May 10 and 11; May 11th being a Friday when few students are in attendance.
Page 5) A brief one-page typewitten letter on letterhead stationery from Harlan Hatcher, Office of the President, University of Michigan -- Ann Arbor, addressed to Dr. Aziz S. Atiya, 1520 Longshore Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan, dated January 30, 1956. Harlan Hatcher was President of the University of Michigan from 1951 to 1967. In the letter, Dr. Atiya is thanked for his donation to the Museum of Archaeology of fragments of ancient Egyptian tapestry.
Page 6) Brief one-page typewritten letter from O. L. Shelton (Butler University) to Dr. Atiya, dated March 22, 1956. The letter is on Butler University, School of Religion stationery. In the letter, Professor Shelton asks Dr. Atiya for the time that he will be arriving in Indianapolis, and for a more specific topic for his lectures to be given on May 9 and 10.
