Summary: The Francis Nephi ("Neef") Grigg papers (1960-1989) contain stories, news articles, poems, and publications pertaining to the life and career of F. Nephi Grigg. Grigg was the inventor of the Tater Tot and also launched Ore-Ida Foods, a multimillion dollar industry, with his brother Golden T. Grigg. Nephi Grigg was also a successful golfer.

Biographical Note/Historical Note +/-

Francis Nephi ("Neef") Grigg was born May 6, 1913 in Nampa, Idaho to Parley Mormon Grigg Jr. and Thankful Halsey Gardner. He was raised on a small cattle and dairy farm with his 12 brothers and sisters. His life included everything from selling corn and potatoes door-to-door, to co-founding Ore-Ida Foods with his brother, Golden T. Grigg, and inventing the Tater-Tot. Grigg had been a bishop, a stake high council member and a mission president in Scotland. He received the Silver Beaver and the Silver Antelope for his endless efforts in the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a successful golfer. He died January 6, 1995.

The Francis Nephi ("Neef") Grigg papers (1960-1989) contain stories, news articles, poems, and publications pertaining to the life and career of F. Nephi Grigg. All of the materials in box 1 were written by Nephi Grigg except for the contents of folder 3.
