In 1916 Neil M. Judd of the Smithsonian Institute excavated a house group in Paragonah, which he found to contain 14 houses; size of the group 100 by 300 feet; height 4 1/2 feet, in bad repair. It showed that it had been roofed; no doors, no windows; enter from roof only. Roof timbers stuck across, cris-cross ways, then plastered over with mud; and a circular disc of stone placed over that to keep out storm or others...
