Description
Emery County; hand drawn; chart, Sipapu, Rainbow Youth, masks and snake. The large negative shows single glyphs occuring in Emery County of the RAINBOW YOUTH, or cognate conceptions. The arc, variously attached in some to headdress; in some, large and separate. The RAINBOW YOUTH on the arcs; the 'sky ladders' denoting the concept that the god or being is in the sky. Rain signs, some with snake and man form. The "Seed Bowl of Plenty" held in hand by one priest, with similar concept to our Cornucopia--when filled by the gods, plenty, sustenance, safety for our tribe for another year. Oct. 1938.
