History The patient developed normally until the age of 7 1/2 years at which time he became clumsy and hesitant with gross motor activities, and had difficulty in balancing.
Pathology Deterioration of CNS function
Disease/Diagnosis Schilder's Disease
Clinical Electroencephalogram was abnormal with diffuse slowing and irregularity over the posterior half of both hemispheres. In a radioactive brain scan (pertechnitate) there was a patchy bilateral increased isotope concentration in parieto-occipital regions.
Presenting Symptom difficulty balancing; aphasia; inability to recognize common objects; frequent urination
