Pathology Calcified cotton Gossypium hirsutum pledgets at the base of the mitral valve.
Disease/Diagnosis Recurrent fibrinous retinal emboli OD, secondary to endocarditis from infected retained foreign material from prior cardiac surgery
Clinical VA: 20/10 OU; Full visual field OS; Inferior visual field defect OD
Presenting Symptom Transient loss of vision OD
Neuroimaging CT; MRI
Treatment Surgery; IV Anti-bacterial agents
