Description
On the right, Beehive House, official residence of Brigham Young. Next to it is Governor Brigham Young's office and First L.D.S. Church offices--built about 1852, between Lion and Bee Hive Houses and used as Church Headquarters until 1917. On the left is the Lion House built about 1852 where several of Brigham Young's families lived. On the Lower floor was the dining room and kitchen, next floor living rooms and large parlor, top parlor, top floor, bedrooms. Now used as a social center. The sketch shows the stone wall surrounding the Lion House and Church Office Building. A large open horse-drawn carriage may be seen in the foreground. U.H.S. Collections.
