Mormon Flats as seen from Hill A. Area in East Canyon where Hosea Stout supervised the building of fortifications at the time when Johnston's Army was approaching Utah Territory. 1858. Although the survey party (1962) viewed the fortifications and Mormon Flats, pictures were not taken, and at the request of Dr. Cooley, Bruce Phillips was sent later to take pictures of the area.
