Description Tent houses at Clear Creek in 1906 or 1907. Miners lived in them all winter. Established in the 1870s, Clear Creek began as a harvest point for mine props (made from timber). In 1898 a vein of coal was uncovered and the town grew into a full mining town. By the mid-1950s, the town began to decline. Some homes in the area have been renovated as summer homes and are very popular during deer season.
