D&RGW 40-foot, 70-ton box car 67628. This car is typical of thousands of such cars used by the Rio Grande and other railroads during the 1940s, 1950s, and early 1960s. Supplemented by 50 foot and 60 foot cars, these 40-foot cars are now few in number. Taken in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, in 1988. |
