William Spry is shown at his desk in the Department of the Interior in Washington, D. C. while he was serving as U. S. Land Commissioner in the 1920's. William Spry (Republican) served as Goveror of Utah from 1909-1917. He is most known for securing funds to build the capitol and for his choice to not intervene in the famous Joe Hill murder case.
