Description Dr Hiner was born in Platte, South Dakota in 1905. He received his B.S. from South Dakota State College in 1929, and his M.S. (1931) and Ph.D. (1938) from the University of Florida. Dr Hiner returned to South Dakota State where he was Instructor in pharmacy from 1931-1933, assistant professor 1935-37 and Professor and Head of the Department at South Dakota State until 1940. Dr Hiner joined the faculty of Ohio State University as professor of pharmacy from 1940-1947. Dr Hiner became the first Dean of the College of Pharmacy in 1947 serving with distinction in that capacity until his retirement in 1970. Dr Hiner died in 1988.
