Description Dr VanDyk was born in 1933. Dr VanDyk received his undergraduate education at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr VanDyk received his M.D. in 1958 from the Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. Dr VanDyk completed his Internship at Bellevue Hospital. Dr VanDyk completed residencies in Medicine at San Francisco Veterans Administration Hospital (1961-1962); Neurology at UCLA Center for Health Services (1962-1963) and Ophthalmology at the Oregon Health & Science University (1963-1966). Dr VanDyk joined the School of Medicine faculty in 1969 as Assistant Professor of Surgery. Dr VanDyk became the first Chair of the Division of Ophthalmology in 1970. Dr VanDyk left the University in 1979 to accept appointment at the Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans as Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology. Dr VanDyk died in 1987.
