Dr Anderson was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1908. Dr Anderson attended the University of Minnesota, where he received his B.S (1930); M.D. (1934) and Ph.D. (1940). Dr Anderson was Instructor (1937-1940) and Assistant Professor (1940-1943) at the University of Minnesota. Dr Anderson came to the University in 1943 as Professor and the first Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. Dr Anderson left the University in 1949 when he was named Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University. Dr Anderson returned to the University Minnesota in 1955 where he was Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics until his retirement in 1976. Dr Anderson died in 1994.
