Description Dr Coleman was born in Provo, Utah in 1922. Dr Coleman received his B.S. from Brigham Young University in 1946 and his M.S. and M.D. from Northwestern University in 1948. Dr Coleman completed his Internship at Los Angeles County Hospital (1947-1948) and Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Northwestern University Hospitals (1949-1955). Dr Coleman practiced in orthopedic surgery in Chicago from 1955-1957. Dr Coleman was Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Chief Surgeon at Shriners Hospital from 1957-1990. Dr Coleman was world renowned as a specialist in pediatric orthopedics who authored and edited numerous professional articles and books. Dr Coleman's specialties included congenital dislocations of the hip and reconstructive procedures. Dr Coleman died in 2004.
