Description Dr Tyler was born in Villisca, Iowa in 1916. Dr Tyler received his B.A from Willamette University in 1938 and M.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1942. Dr Tyler completed his Internship at Johns Hopkins (1942-1943). Dr Tyler was Assistant Resident and Resident at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston (1943-1947). Dr Tyler joined the University in 1947 as a member of the new four-year School of Medicine as Research Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Medicine. Dr Tyler was Acting Dean of the School of Medicine, 1971-1972 and 1991-1993. Dr Tyler was Director of the Clinical Research Center from 1965-1977 and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism from 1948-1981. Dr Tyler died in 1994.
