Description Dr Bjorkman was born in 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr Bjorkman received both his B.A. (1976) and his M.D. (1980) from the University of Utah. Dr Bjorkman completed both his his internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard University Medical School (1980-81) and residency in Internal Medicine (1981-1983). He was a Fellow at Harvard University Medical School, 1983-1985 and Instructor in Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine from 1985-1988. He became Assistant Professor 1988-1992 and Associate Professor 1992. In 1998 he received his Master of Public Health/Health Services Administration from the University of Utah in 1998 and a Master of Science degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr Bjorkman was Dean of the School of Medicine from 2004-2011. Dr Bjorkman left the University in 2001 to become Dean of the College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. Dr Bjorkman returned in 2016 as Professor in Gastroenterology.
