Description Groundbreaking ceremony for the Cancer Research Center Building (1948). The Cancer Research Center Building, designed by Ashton, Evans and Brazier, was the first building on the eastern edge of campus and was funded by the United States Public Health Service and U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. The Cancer Research Building was completed in 1950.
