Description Dr Bowers was born in Catonsville, Maryland in 1913. Dr Bowers received his B.S from Gettysburg College in 1933. Dr Bowers received both his M.D. (1938) and his Sc.D. (1959) from the University of Maryland. Dr Bowers was Deputy Director of the Division of Biology and Medicine, U.S. Atomic Energy Commission from 1947-1950. Dr Bowers was Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of School from 1948-1950. Dr Bowers was Professor of Radiobiology, Director of the Radiobiology Laboratory and Dean of the University College of Medicine from 1950-1955. Dr Bowers was named Professor of Medicine and Dean of University of Wisconsin College of Medicine in 1955. Dr Bowers died in 1993.
