Description Dr Warner was born in 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr Warner received both his B.A (1946) and his M.D. (1949) from the University of Utah. Dr Warner received his Ph.D. in Physiology in 1953 from the University of Minnesota. Dr performed his Internship at Parkland Hospital, Dallas, Texas (1949-1950) and his Residency in Medicine at the University of Minnesota Hospitals, (1950-1951). Dr Warner was a Fellow at the Mayo Clinic 1951-1952 and the University of Minnesota 1952-1953. Dr Warner was the Director of the Cardiovascular Laboratory at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City from 1954-1970. Dr Warner was Research Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University 1953-1954 and Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Physiology from 1957-1964. Dr Warner was Professor and Chair of the Department of Biophysics and Engineering from 1964-1973 and Professor and Chair of the Department of Medical Informatics from 1973-1996. Dr Warner also served as Research Professor in the Department of Surgery from 1966-1983 and Special Assistant for Information Management to the Vice President for Health Sciences from 1983-1993. Dr Warner was Director and Chair for Computing in the Health Sciences from 1993-1996. Dr Waner was elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences in 1988. Dr Warner was Professor Emeritus of Medical Informatics. Dr Warner died in 2012. This photograph is of Dr Warner at the computer console used to run the HELP system at the LDS Hospital.
