Description On the morning of July 10, 1965, the Utah National Guard and Air Guard helped transfer nearly 100 patients from the Salt Lake County General Hospital. The procession of ambulances was met at the new hospital by Utah Governor Calvin L. Rampton; Kenneth B Castleton, MD, PhD, Dean of the School of Medicine, and Vernon L Harris, MHA, University Medical Center's first administrator.
