Title Bilateral Anterior Ischemic Optic Neropathy Following Status Asthmaticus
Creator Chan, Candy; Friedman, Deborah
Subject Optic Neuropathy; Ischemic; Status Asthmaticus; Bilateral
Description Non-arteritic anteriour ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) accounts for over 90% of AION. However, the incidence of simultaneous bilateral NAION is extremely rare, and even more so with cases not associated with a surgical procedure. We report the first documented case of simultaneous bilateral AION in a patient treated for status asthmaticus.
