Additional Information Image was scanned from color slide. Tokonoma, also known simply as toko, is a built-in recessed area located in the reception room of traditional Japanese interior design. They are usually decorated with scrolls (pictorial or calligraphic), bonsai, or decorative figures. Toko means floor or bed, ma means room or space. Note: Appears to be similar to image with File Name: Amanohashidate Monjusoh Inn_001.
