Located near the Shinto shrine toward the southern edge of Amanohashidate. Water source, said to go back to the Heian period, is unique because of freshwater despite its proximity to sea. Amanohashidate is a pine-covered sand spit whose name means "bridge to heaven." Image was scanned from color slide. Caption is from photographer's notes on slide |
