Show Durango, Colo., April 9, 1918 Hon. Commissioner Indian Affairs Washington, D. C. Dear Sir, -- We, the undersigned Southern Ute Indians of the Ignacio Agency ask that you advise us direct whether the United States Government wishes the Ute Indians who are of proper age to go to the war. We also wish to say that we would be glad to have the government use our money which we have in the treasury to help win the war by buying liberty bonds with it. We would also like to know what will become of our ranches if we go to the war. Please answer by directing to James Bush, Care Box 207, Durango, Colorado.
