Five American Indians gathered together in the grass; (3) adults sit, (2) children stand; woman wears dark braid, hoop earrings, ornate, light-tone blanket; silver bracelets on both wrists, wide silver ring on middle finger of right hand; light-tone, ankle-length dress (far left); second woman wears her hair unbraided; fringed. mid-tone blanket over her shoulders; light-colored dress over, darker floral print outfit; silver bracelet and ring on right hand, two silver rings on left hand (middle left); a child stands (center); wears his hair in multiple short braids, thick scarf tied tightly beneath his chin, light-tone shirt with dark, square pattern and overalls with a sagging right shoulder strap; a second child stands behind the first (center right); wears round, hat with wide, wavy brim; light-tone bandana around his neck, dark shirt with light, dotted pattern; bright-tone woven or beaded vest with intricate patterns or symbols; mid-tone trousers mostly obscured by the figure in the foreground; third woman sits (far right); She wears her hair down; dark-tone, plaid blanket over her right shoulder and a beaded purses visible in her lap; she wears a dark-toned dress with both vertical and horizontal stripes, over light-toned, puffy sleeves; a sigle silver ring on her right and left hands, and beaded moccasins; an earthen bottle rests in the grass to her right, at the center of the group; two saddled horses in immediate background, team of hitched horses in background (right margin); anglo-style buildings sisible in the extreme background (upper left third) and a woman in a dark blanket and light skirt (upper right third)
