Description Sundry papers, documents, and memoranda pertaining to members of the First, Second and Third Regiments Indian Home Guards were submitted to the Committee on Indian Affairs. The Secretary of of the Interior then sent the papers to Congress with his letter of April 30, 1872. The House requested copies of all letters, telegrams and reports of special agents and other official papers or records of the Department of the Interior pertaining to the payment of bounties, back pay and pensions to the First, Second and Third Regiments Indian Home Guard. The House committee examined the proofs and was satisified that frauds had been perpetrated. At head of title: 42d Congress, 2d session. House of Representatives. Report no. 96.
