Description Native American (Ute) scouts pose on horseback; both men look back over their shoulders, one with a rifle drawn; they wear beaded moccasins, pants, scarves , and feathers in their hair; one wears fur pelts decorated with metal hung around neck and over shoulders, bead necklaces, and a bead headband that extends to drape over shoulders; one wears an ammunition belt, beaded armband, and braided hair covered with scarves; horses wear bridles, one decorated with metal, saddles and blankets.
