Local time: approximately 2:10 AM; Elevation: 50 feet; Recorded in dense fog at the base of a large dead tree amidst thick forest.; A Great Horned Owl nest was at top of tree in a hollow section, and at least one owl was observed at the tree; Recorded numerous types of nearby vocalizations from at least two or several owls; Temperature at 6:30 PM at this location on 1/27/11 was 49 degrees Fahrenheit with wind speed of 0 mph, humidity 83%; Fog lifted in the morning, but skies still mostly cloudy with high humidity. Temperature at 8:40 AM on 1/28/11 was 46 degrees Fahrenheit, winds were 0-1 mph, humidity was 63%.
