Notes
Field notes: Lapland longspurs everywhere. Rock Ptarmigan calls occasionally. Pectoral Sandpiper does and occasional hooting display. Sandhill cranes in the distance. Greater White-fronted Geese are present. The storm has passed and the wind is gone. Our resident Arctic Fox calls occasionally. Red Phalaropes work the puddles. A pair of Long-tailed Ducks have taken up residence in the pond. A pair of Cackling geese have also settled in. Habitat: Coastal Tundra with small puddles/ponds; Elevation: 8 Feet; Season: Spring; Temp. 39.6 F; Wind speed: 1 MPH; Humidity: 77.5%; Local Time: 5:20
